Tamarac’s OVA Club attended the Olympics of the Visual Arts Competition on Thursday, April 27, 2023. The club members have been working in teams on long-term projects based on given problems by the New York State Art Teachers Association. At the competition the students had to complete a second on-demand artwork in 90 minutes. Each artwork was then judged on given criteria. The Drawing team, comprised of Mia Girolami and Carlos Kaskoun, took first place, at the high school level, in the drawing category. Club advisor Mrs. Sheffer is proud of all the hard work and dedication each club member has put forth over the course of this school year. The OVA projects will be on display at this year‘s districtwide art show on Tuesday, May 16th.
