Dear Secondary School Families:
Students will make the switch to their third marking period classes on Monday. A reminder that classes will not be in session on Tuesday, January 23 for Regents exams. Only students taking an exam or those who are receiving mid-year academic support will be in attendance on 1/23. Wednesday, January 25 will be a half day with afternoon Regents exams. Friday, 1/26 will also be a half day for Staff Development. If your child is taking a Regents exam or College Physics exam next week, please see the attached letter for parents/guardians. This correspondence contains important information about testing times, locations, and transportation.

Big Red Day: Tamarac’s annual Big Red Day event is scheduled for Saturday, January 27. We are looking for a great turnout from our students and community. Middle School students may attend this special community event without a parent/guardian - they just need to sign up with their teachers by Friday, January 26.

S.R.O./Safety: The next time you visit campus Officer Fane will have a different vehicle parked out front. The Rensselaer County Sheriff Department is providing our school resource officer with new wheels sporting custom Tamarac badging!
SouperBowl: The PTSA looks forward to continuing their tradition of feeding district faculty and staff on the Friday before SuperBowl Sunday. This year they will be providing a variety of soups and treats but they need your help. Please click here if you are able to provide your time or a physical donation.
Friends of Music: Please consider supporting our music programming by attending a monthly Friends of Music meeting. Attached is their calendar of events for the school year.
Yearbook: Attention Class of 2024 students and parents/guardians. Don't miss out on the opportunity to have a personalized baby message in the yearbook. Families can design their own 1/8 page of the yearbook on the Jostens website. There are over twenty formats to choose from. Your message can include a picture or even two pictures. All messages cost $35. Messages are being sold until early February but there are a limited number of spots.You can design your message at jostensadservice.com/student
Blood Drive: Key Club is hosting a blood drive with The American Red Cross on Thursday, February 1st from 7:30-12:30 in the multipurpose gym. Students that are 16 must pick up a permission slip from me to be signed by their parents in order to donate. Anyone 17 and older can register to donate and do not need a permission slip.
