Dear families,
It is with a heavy heart that we are posting this update. Unfortunately, we recently received word that the Nature’s Classroom program is ceasing operations at several of its surrounding sites, Silver Bay being one of them. This means that we will be unable to take our annual trip to Nature's Classroom, even if COVID precautions were to allow it. We are saddened to deliver this news amidst all the disappointment this year has already brought for our students, and will greatly miss the tradition that has lived on for so long at Tamarac. As of right now, field trips are off the table, so at this time we are unable to plan anything else.
This is especially devastating for last year's fifth graders (currently sixth graders), as they have already paid deposits and spent a significant amount of time fundraising for this trip. Please see the attached letters for details, specifically regarding refunds for sixth grade families. WE GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR PATIENCE WITH THIS PROCESS, as it is a huge task!
These letters were also sent home with students today (or, shared digitally with remote students). If you still have questions after reading, please contact your child's fifth grade teacher.
Thank you all for your support of this trip throughout the years- you helped us make many wonderful memories at Silver Bay!
