To the families of Tamarac Elementary School,
I hope this email finds you well. We are looking toward the end of this school year and all that this will bring. We have some firmed up plans now for the 5th grade Moving Up Ceremony, which will be sent home in Friday Folders. As with all things this year, these plans were developed with the best information we have, and, like most everything these days, is subject to change. Let's hope this doesn't happen. A similar format will be adopted for the Kindergarten Moving Up Ceremony, set for Friday, June 18th. More details on this event will also be forthcoming.
Just a reminder that next Friday, May 28th is a day off for all students. Please enjoy the longer Memorial Day weekend. Additionally, as the weather continues to improve, we will be outside more - please be sure that your children have a water bottle, sunscreen if they need it and anything else they may need. We have one water bottle filler drinking fountain near the cafeteria if refills are needed.
In conjunction with the Senior Class picnic on Tuesday, June 15th, the Elementary School will be holding a special event the next day. The Brittonkill PTSA has generously contributed to the Senior Class picnic with an inflatable bounce house and other features for their day. Our 5th graders will get time to play on the features the next day, as we have an activity day for our building planned. Thank you, PTSA, for thinking of our students, both big and small. Thank you also, PTSA, for today's Mismatch Day. My weak sartorial skills finally paid off.
We have many more things on the horizon - I can't believe that we have so few days left for everything that still needs to be done. It will be a busy end to the school year but I know everyone here is ready for it. But for now, enjoy the weekend.
Sincerely, Rich Pogue
Principal, Tamarac Elementary School
