Six Tamarac elementary students were recognized on May 6th for the annual Sandra G. Morley Physical Education Student Leadership Award. The program was held at Hudson Valley Community College and is put on by the Capital Zone chapter of the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (NYSAHPERD). Almost 800 students were chosen from over thirty school districts and twelve counties were recognized. Physical Education teachers Dan Pryde, Jen Heim and Erick Roadcap selected students Matthew M., Jack O., Sam B., Mattingly K., Hallie M., and Alana B. as the honorees. These students have demonstrated responsible personal and social behavior, sportsmanship, and citizenship, and a desire to learn and improve. They also have exhibited a physically active lifestyle, demonstrated leadership and have been a positive influence on peers, while contributing toward the total school program.
Registration is open for the inaugural Heads of Hope Brain Cancer Fundraiser on June 2nd - organized by senior Katie Gross with help from the Tamarac Booster Club. Register here: http://tamaracboosterclub.org/headsofhope/
