Our high school Olympics of the Visual Arts Team attended the 42nd annual Olympics of the Visual Art Competition on Monday May 13th at the Saratoga Civic Center. Seventeen students competed in four categories: Drawing, Painting, Illustration and Sculpture. The students began working collaboratively in groups, starting in October, and were able to display their creative solutions to the given design problems. The students also had to present a portfolio that documented their brainstorming, research and process. While there, each group also created an "on-demand" work of art in a mere 90 minutes with limited art supplies. Team Advisor Mrs. Sheffer is so proud of all the hard work that the students have put in over the past seven months and commends them on all that they have achieved!

The countdown is on! One week until our Budget Vote, Capital Project Vote and Board of Education election. Please share and mark your calendar for May 21st.

Parents of after care students: It has come to our attention that after care is canceled today May 13 due to a staffing shortage with our childcare provider. All parents should have received notice directly from the program. We will plan to send after care students home from school today on the bus. If you plan to pick your child up rather than having them ride the bus, please let the elementary office know as soon as possible.

It's PROM Spirit Week!

Thank you to those who wore GOLD for Red, White and Gold Kick off! Join us tomorrow for a day of baseball, softball, lacrosse and more!

On May 21st, voters will also be checking the ballot for a Capital Improvement Plan of $25,445,000 which has district wide and specific campus enhancements, including a new athletic facility with the installation of a synthetic field.

Go gold this weekend for Red, White and Gold Day!!

Six Tamarac elementary students were recognized on May 6th for the annual Sandra G. Morley Physical Education Student Leadership Award. The program was held at Hudson Valley Community College and is put on by the Capital Zone chapter of the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (NYSAHPERD). Almost 800 students were chosen from over thirty school districts and twelve counties were recognized. Physical Education teachers Dan Pryde, Jen Heim and Erick Roadcap selected students Matthew M., Jack O., Sam B., Mattingly K., Hallie M., and Alana B. as the honorees.
