This Friday, May 15th, is the 2nd Annual Mental Health Awareness Day, sponsored by SADD! We have over 20 different mental health professionals and companies from across NYS coming this year to speak with students about positive decision-making and the benefits of supporting and enabling favorable health choices (and, we will once again have therapy dogs in attendance!).

Congratulations to the middle school Academic Challenge Bowl Team on an amazing season. They finished second in our league with a 6-2 record and came in second place in the Albany area playoffs.


The Capital Region Office of U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand will be holding a 2026 Service Academy Information Night at RPI’s Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies (CBIS) on Monday, May 18th, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 PM, doors open at 5:30 PM.

The Office of U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s 2025 Capital Region Service Academy Information Night event on May 18th will highlight unique opportunities available through the nation’s five service academies, as well as two local Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs and additional regional programs, which are designated as National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) and expect to have offerings through the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) Cyber Service Academy Program.
Event attendees will have the opportunity to hear from representatives of the following offices and institutions:

The Office of U.S. Congressman Paul Tonko
U.S. Military Academy
U.S. Naval Academy
U.S. Coast Guard Academy
U.S. Merchant Marine Academy
U.S. Air Force Academy
