Dear Secondary School Families:
There will be no school on Monday, January 15 in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. On Wednesday, January 17 grades 6-8 will be completing a computer based testing simulation. Students are reminded to bring their fully charged Chromebooks to school in order to complete the 40 minute online math assessment. This will be an important opportunity for students to gain experience with online assessments. Middle school exams will be computer based this spring. Regents exams are still paper based but may be administered in this format in the future.
Mid Year Academic Support: As we approach the end of the second marking period, students who are behind in their work and/or in need of additional support will be required to attend school and work with teachers on January 23 (Regents Day). A letter will be coming home on Tuesday with those students who need to be here. This letter should be signed by a parent/guardian and returned by Thursday, January 18.
January Regents: Regents exams will be administered from January 23-January 26. A reminder that classes will not be session on January 23 and on the afternoon of January 24. Wednesday, January 24 will be a half day of instruction with dismissal at 10:32am. Any student taking an afternoon Regents exam should report to the cafeteria at dismissal.

Friends of Music: Please consider supporting our music programming by attending a monthly Friends of Music meeting. Attached is their calendar of events for the school year.
Yearbook: Attention Class of 2024 students and parents/guardians. Don't miss out on the opportunity to have a personalized baby message in the yearbook. Families can design their own 1/8 page of the yearbook on the Jostens website. There are over twenty formats to choose from. Your message can include a picture or even two pictures. Blood Drive: Key Club is hosting a blood drive with The American Red Cross on Thursday, February 1st from 7:30-12:30 in the multipurpose gym. Students that are 16 must pick up a permission slip from me to be signed by their parents in order to donate. Anyone 17 and older can register to donate and do not need a permission slip.
