A special meeting will be held this evening where the BOE will appoint the new director of special education, Jodi Hogsberg.
Jodi Hogsberg is joining Brunswick as the Director of Special Education whose experience in education is vast and spans fifteen years. Jodi’s first eleven years were spent as a special education teacher developing and monitoring a variety of alternative education programs where she worked with large teams of service providers recommending and maintaining exemplary student support services. During her time as a special educator, Jodi’s exceptional skills then earned her a position as an Instructional Coach, where she evaluated and improved differentiated instruction; curriculum and assessment; and Literacy for two years in both urban and rural school settings while completing her Administrative credentials. Jodi comes to Brunswick after having been a Special Education Administrator at Schalmont CSD where she worked to establish a culture of collaboration amongst all stakeholders for students with disabilities. She brings a learner-centered approach to education and aims to maximize the potential of every student served at Brunswick (Brittonkill) Schools.
Jodi has received her B.S. with certificates in General and Special Education, and an M.S. with a certificate in Literacy from The College of St. Rose in Albany, NY. She then received an M.S. in Educational Leadership with certificates in School Business Leadership and School District Leadership from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY.
Jodi was selected after several rounds of interviews with multiple stakeholders.
Tonight's meeting is open to the public and will be held in the LGI of the Secondary School. The meeting will start at 6 p.m.
