Dear Secondary School Families:
The weather was picture perfect for last week's junior/senior prom. The students mingled and literally danced the evening away. Thank you to the Crooked Lake House for hosting and our senior class advisors for organizing the event. I’ve included a few additional photos in this update. We have a short but very busy week ahead. A reminder for 8th grade parents/guardians that science 8 performance testing will take place on Tuesday in the LGI. Please reach out to Ms. Tennyson with questions regarding the schedule. Our spring concert series kicks off on Wednesday evening at 7pm with the 6-12 Chorus and Choraliers. On Thursday, our annual National Honor Society induction ceremony will take place at 6pm. The location for both of these events in the district auditorium. School will be closed in observance of Memorial Day 5/27-5/31. Thank you to all of the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

On May 25th and 26th our middle school students will have a guest presenter from St. Peter’s Healthcare Partners speak with them about personal safety. This presentation is part of Erin’s Law - a New York State requirement for schools to make K-8 students aware of personal safety and what to do if they feel unsafe. We want to encourage parents to have open dialogue with your child on this topic. Please reach out to your child’s counselor if you have any questions.
HVCC Summer Enrichment: Hudson Valley Community College will be offering Head Start Courses in Math and Writing this summer at no cost to students. Both programs are designed to give students the chance to brush up on these skills, and learn about the college and our academic resources.Students can choose an online or in-person session.
