We are excited to welcome our students back to school in eight short days! A couple of reminders and updates before school starts on Thursday, September 8:
Student Schedules: Schedules are now available on the parent portal. Please reach out to your child’s counselor if you have any questions. Friday, September 23 is the last day to make schedule changes. On the first day of school all 9th and 10th graders should report to the auditorium foyer to pick up a final hard copy of their schedule between 7:15-7:30am. All 11th and 12th grade students should report to the high school gymnasium to pick up a final hard copy of their schedule.
Lockers: Every student will be provided with an assigned locker. Middle School students will receive their assigned locker in homeroom. Students in grades 10-12 will keep the same locker they had last year. Incoming 9th graders will receive their locker assignments through email. The email titled “LOCKER ASSIGNMENT: 2022-23” will be sent to your child’s account this week. Please email Alammerts@brunswickcsd.org if you do not receive this correspondence by Friday.
6th Grade Orientation: is tomorrow (Wednesday) from 8-2pm. This is a great opportunity for your child to familiarize themselves with the building, their classrooms, lockers, etc...National Junior Honor Society students will be on hand to give tours. If you are unable to attend, the information will also be made available to students on the first day of school. Students need to accompanied by a parent or guardian. Ice Cream With the Principals and Counselors: As part of 6th grade orientation, students and families are invited to enjoy a Stewart’s ice cream sundae between 11-1pm!
6th Grade Open House: In person on Wednesday, September 7 from 2:00-3:30. Meet your teachers and learn about all of the exciting things happening in 6th grade this year!
7th-12th Grade Open House: Save the date: Wednesday, October 5 is Open House for grades 7-12 (more information to come in September).
9th Grade Orientation: Freshman Orientation is Tuesday, September 6 from 2:00 pm-3:30pm. The program is open to all incoming 9th grade students. It is a great opportunity for students to meet new people and prepare for the start of high school. Please reach out to Ms. Brianna Rolston (brolston@brunswickscsd.org) with any questions.
College Kick Off: College Kick-Off program is open to all juniors and seniors. It will take place Tuesday, September 6, from 9:00am-1:00pm. This is an outstanding opportunity for students to learn about the college application process, interviews and visits, sports in college, the two year experience and much more. Lunch will be provided!
Transportation Update: The Secondary School instructional day runs from 7:30 am-2:11pm. Pickup and dropoff is in the inner loop or main parking lot. Doors to the main vestibule will be open at 7:05am for student dropoff. Breakfast will be served daily in the high school cafeteria. 6th and 7th grade students report to the middle school cafeteria. 8th grade students may go to their lockers and the 8th grade wing. With our auditorium back online for the start of the school year, 9th-11th grade students will report to the auditorium until homeroom (unless they have made prior arrangements to see a teacher). Seniors may go to their lockers or high school wing.
