Dear Secondary School Families:
We were thrilled to welcome our students back to our newly renovated campus this week to start the 2022-23 school year. Wednesday was the first normal opening day of school since 2019-2020 - it definitely showed on the students faces with lots of visible smiles! A thank you to our PTSA organization and Booster Club for their support of our College Kickoff and back to school cornhole fundraiser. During lunch today every student received their own Tamarac water bottle courtesy of the PTSA (please stop by the main office if your child did not receive one). A reminder to check out our district website for a calendar of upcoming events: https://www.brunswickcsd.org/o/bcsd/events. You will also find both the middle school and high school handbooks here: Please take some time to review the important information contained within.
School Pictures: Adirondack School Portraits will be here on Tuesday, October 11 for the middle school and Wednesday, October 12 for the high school Brochures with package options will be coming home with your child later this month.. Completed paper forms should be handed directly to the photographer with payment.

Town Hall Assemblies: During first periods on Monday (middle school) and Tuesday (high school) we will be meeting with students to discuss important information about the 2022-23 school year. Students will have an opportunity to meet our new school resource officer. We will be working in partnership with our SRO to plan lessons and workshops throughout the year designed to promote citizenship, good decision making, and healthy choices.
College Kickoff: Our counseling center spent several weeks planning this tremendous opportunity for our juniors and seniors. While I am on the topic of counselors, I want to highlight the critical role they plan within schools. School counselors design and deliver programs that support academic, emotional and social development. They help students plan for college and a successful career after graduation. This critical work is done in collaboration with stakeholders - students, parents/guardians, teachers, administrators and community leaders. Please reach out to your child’s counselor if you have any questions, concerns, need to schedule a meeting, etc.. Here at Tamarac Secondary School we have three of the best.
Thank you for your patience with morning arrival. We expect things to clear up as soon as road construction/paving on Route 2 is completed. The staff here was certainly understanding this morning with some buses and students arriving late due to unexpected traffic. Wishing you and your family a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Ken Rizzo
Secondary School Principal
