Dear Secondary School Families:
I hope your holiday season is off to a healthy and happy start. A reminder that today is the Interim point for the second marking period. Interim reports will be available on the portal next Friday 12/16. The student portal is now open for your child to access their schedules, grades and much more. Every student was provided with an opportunity to login and change their password during homeroom/period 1 this week. At this time 76% of the high school and 86% of the middle school have logged in and reset their password. If your child has still not successfully logged in, please encourage them to speak with their period 1 teacher and/or email alammerts@brunswickcsd.org so we can help facilitate this. The link to both portals can be found on our district website and on our app: https://www.brunswickcsd.org/.
A reminder to our families that the holiday concert season is here! On Monday evening the MS/HS Band concert will be held in our district auditorium at 7pm. This will be followed by the MS/HS Chorus concert on Thursday evening at 7pm. Don’t forget to support the Friends of Music with their Holiday Cookie Plate Sale after the concerts. Happy holidays!

Social Media & Digital Citizenship Presentations: The Secondary School is again partnering with local law enforcement to provide education for our students about the pitfalls of social media and appropriate use of digital platforms. On Wednesday both middle and high students will have assemblies led by Trooper Steve Rothwein and our Officer Fane. At home we ask that parents/guardians set appropriate boundaries for using cell phones, laptops, social media apps, etc… Maintaining open communication and monitoring supports decision making, healthy peer relationships, positive self-esteem, and wellness. Thank you for your continued support.
Holiday Hat Drive: The High School Student Senate is running a holiday hat drive for the Melody Center to help patients stay warm and feel loved during the holiday season. The Melody Center is a hospital floor located at Albany Medical Center. This floor provides care to children with cancer and other blood disorders. The goal is to collect 100 hats for children- all hats are needed including baseball hats, beanies, winter hats, etc…. Donations may be dropped in the boxes located in the main lobby of the Secondary School. The hat drive will run from Thursday, December 1st up until Tuesday, December 22nd.
Sincerely,
Ken Rizzo
Secondary School Principal
